What kinds of children are suited
for attending international Schools?

• Families who
  Possess Green Cards

  For a family to possess green cards means that the family has Permanent Residency in a foreign country. However, in order to attend international schools in China, the family must fill in application forms and submit relevant documents such as photocopies of their green cards and original copies of family member's work permits in Shanghai to the school. The school will then submit these to the SMEC for approval. There are three possible outcomes: approval, rejection or conditional approval that only allow the student to study one year in the school.

• Families who
  Possess Foreign Passports

  For children with U.S passports to attend international schools in China, one of the parents must have residence permit in China. The child in question must have a Q1 Visa(issued to those applying to stay in China for the purpose of reuniting with members of their family) or other similar long-term visas as well as obtaining residence permit. Those who hold short-term visas are not allowed to attend international schools in China. Documents parents need to provide include: The identification page and visa page of the child's passport, the identification page and and visa page of one or both of the parent's foreign passport (the parent currently residing in China need not provide). School report from the previous school the child attended, photographs and so on.
