Jeff Laing has been teaching, living and learning in China for the past eight years with Maple Leaf. Originally from BC, Canada, Jeff decided to make the leap to China because of his passion for education, and the opportunities presented by a full-time teaching position. Having spent his first few years teaching high school Social Studies, the last few years has seen Jeff transition towards leadership positions, in the high school and more recently at the Foreign Nationals' School. Jeff is excited about the recent growth and development of the FNS, and is looking forward to the bright future of Maple Leaf Education.
【显示更多】 【收起详情】Vicky Zhu got her Master’s Degree in Science from the University of British Columbia in 2015. Since finding her interest in education, she began working with Maple Leaf in 2016. Over the past one and a half years in Maple Leaf, she worked as a counselor in Maple Leaf High School and became familiar with the BC curriculum. With the help of her past overseas studying experience, she transferred to the FNS and began working as the Administrative Officer in September, 2017. Since it is a brand new start, Vicky is really looking forward to the new career in the FNS.
【显示更多】 【收起详情】Tom Rogers began his teaching career in Wuhan in 2003 in a university in southern Wuhan. Since then he has worked in many educational institutions in the city. He has studied at Liverpool, John Moores University (BA), twice at the University of Sheffield (MSc & PGCE) and also the University of Sunderland (Diploma Ed.) He has also taken short courses at Athabasca University, Sichuan International Studies University and Hubei University. He has a teaching certificate for England and for British Columbia. He is also TEFL certified. He first joined Maple Leaf in 2008. This is the sixth year that he has been part of the administration team at MLIS-W and the third in the role of principal. He is grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to the great team that exists in the school. He looks forward to continue working with all students, staff and parents to support the high quality learning that is taking place at Maple Leaf.
【显示更多】 【收起详情】Peter grew up competing in Track & Field events as well as a variety of other sports in the small British Columbia coastal town of Powell River. Always having a sense of adventure, Peter decided to join the amazing teaching staff at MLIS-Wuhan in order to teach the even more amazing MLIS-Wuhan students. Over the past 10 years, Peter has fallen in love with teaching students at Wuhan and adventures which come with living in China. As a result, Peter has return for his 10th year and his first year as BC Vice-Principal. Peter is extremely happy to be again teaching PE classes and playing with the students under the hot Wuhan sun or in the cold Wuhan rain. Peter will be coaching the Girls’ basketball team in their quest to defeat the Dalian and Tianjin teams. He is also looking forward to helping to guide grade 12 students to academic success and hunting Waimai at the North gate. Peter wishes all Maple Leafers a successful year filled with hard work, happiness, fun and smiles!
