海南三亚外籍人员子女学校（TIS）科学展来了，趣玩科学，探索未知！

　　海南三亚外籍人员子女学校是一所致力于向在琼工作的外籍人士子女提供国际教育课程的全日制国际学校。作为三亚海亚教育的成员，学校成立于 2014 年，为来自 20 多个不同国家地区的学生们提供的学习体验及高质量的教学环境。学生接受纯正的英式教育，英国国家课程成为学校学术资质的有力，而丰富的课外活动则让学生能够尽情发掘自身兴趣爱好。

　　趣玩科学，探索未知

　　PART 1

　　Over the last 3 months, students have been working hard in and out of the science classroom to design and create their Science Fair projects.

　　The big day finally arrived on May 28th, when we held our third annual school Science Fair. This year saw the biggest ever turnout, with more than 100 students taking part from Grade 2 to Grade 9 and over 100 parents attending.

　　On Friday morning, the gym was transformed into a colourful kaleidoscope of project boards, beakers, hydraulic pumps, Venus fly traps, and, yes, one small fire.

　　在过去的 3 个月里，孩子们一直在努力设计和创建他们的科学展项目。

　　重要的一天终于在 5 月 28 日到来了，我们举办了第三届年度学校科学展。今年是有史以来参加人数较多的一年，从 2 年级到 9 年级有 100 多名学生和100 多名家长参加。

　　周五早上，体育馆变成了一个由项目展示板、烧杯、液压泵、捕蝇器和小火堆组成的五颜六色的万花筒。

　　Visiting parents and students moved through the busy aisles, watching presentations and using stickers to vote on their favourite projects.

　　Scientists from the nearby Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering，Chinese Academy of Sciences(IDSSE) collaborated with TIS and SLS science teachers to judge projects and present awards to our excited and diligent students.

　　来自中国科学院深海研究所 (IDSSE) 的科学家们与我校的科学老师通力合作，评判项目并为孩子们颁奖。

　　PART 2

　　In the afternoon, the library filled up with students, parents and teachers who gathered to hear speeches from Bobby Jencks and two charismatic IDSSE scientists.

　　学生、家长和老师们聚集在图书馆，聆听两位魅力非凡的中科院深海研究所科学家以及Bobby Jencks老师的演讲。

　　Dr. Samik Dasgupta, a deep sea geochemist, spoke about what it means to be a scientist, different fields of science, and how they are utilized by the Marine Research Institute.

　　He ended his speech by encouraging students to pursue their passions, saying, “if you can dream it, you can do it”

　　深海地球化学家Samik Dasgupta博士谈到了成为一名科学家意味着什么，不同的科学领域以及深海研究所如何利用它们。

　　在演讲临近尾声时，他鼓励学生追求自己的梦想，他说：“如果你有梦想，你就能做到。”

　　Marine biologist and whale researcher Dr. Li Songhai spoke about the importance of science in the community and in the world, focusing on interesting facts about sea mammals and the necessity of environmental protection.

　　He ended by urging children to think more about how to save the oceans and the incredible creatures that live in them.

　　来自中国科学院深海研究所的海洋生物学家和鲸鱼研究员——李松海博士讲述了科学在社区和世界上的重要性，重点介绍了有关海洋哺乳动物的有趣事实和环境保护的必要性。

　　较后，他鼓励孩子们要更多地思考如何拯救海洋和生活在其中的不可思议的生物。

　　Mr. Jencks preformed an inspiring and fun science demonstration, telling students that by working together they can achieve great things.

　　Jencks老师展示了一个鼓舞人心且有趣的科学实验，并且告诉孩子们：通过共同努力，他们可以取得伟大的成就。

　　PART 3

　　This year, the students exceeded the expectations of scientists and teachers alike, with exciting high-quality displays and excellent presentations.

　　At the prize-giving ceremony, hosted by Mrs. Elize Vogel, students were awarded certificates and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as for the Most Creative Project and Best Display Board. The voting stickers were tallied up to determine the Most Popular Project.

　　今年的科学展上，学生们以令人兴奋的高质量展示和出色的演讲超出了科学家和老师们的期望。

　　在由Elize Vogel老师主持的颁奖典礼上，孩子们获得了第一、二、三等奖以及较具创意项目和较佳展示板的和奖品。评委们对投票贴纸进行统计，选出较受欢迎的科学展项目。
